Our History

In 1974 George Gunn purchased Nunda Farm Service, Inc. in Nunda, NY. It was a farm store selling feed, seed, fertilizer and farm supplies. In 1980 oldest son Ed came into the business. At this time they began carrying more products for the home owner, particularly lawn and garden supplies.

In1993 the opportunity arose to purchase the former Agway store located at 5 Maple Street in Dansville, NY. The store was renovated and opened in April of 1994 as Town and Country Agway. Ed and his brother Jeff went to Dansville to run the new store. This new establishment mainly sold lawn and garden, feed, pet food and pet supplies. As the business grew a power equipment show room was added as well as a line of pellet stoves.

In 2000 George retired and the Nunda location closed due to declining farm trade. Dansville became the primary location of Nunda Farm Service Inc.

In recent years greenhouse facilities have been added as well as a new Fireside Gallery to showcase the complete line of heating products that they carry.

Ed and Jeff focus on giving their customers quality products and service. They have a top notch staff that have expertise in all areas of the business and can answer any questions customers may have regarding choosing the right product or taking care of and maintaining any of the products that they sell.
